Is Group Therapy Effective?

Is Group Therapy Effective?

You might notice that we are doing lots of fun exciting new group programs here at Northside Speech Pathology. We are very excited that we can offer these fresh new programs. Here are some of the reasons why we love running groups:

  1. Peer modelling
Research demonstrates positive outcomes when children learn from other people their own age. Children love to have the chance to bounce off each other in group sessions and can learn just as much from each other as they do from the clinicians running the group.
  2. A safe place to practice new skills
Group programs are a safe space for children to practice their skills with other children within a structured and supportive environment.
  3. Incredible outcomes
All our group programs are evidence based and have been shown to be effective in working on the goals that they target. We are always super excited when the children that we work with achieve their goals!!
  4. Fun!
We absolutely love running group programs because they are always so much fun and children love being a part of them.

There are so many other things that we enjoy about our group programs, and we would love you to be a part of it. Please see our group programs page or reach out to us if you would like to find a program that might be suitable for your child.
