Speech Pathologist
Carmel Pinshaw is a dedicated Speech Pathologist with over 25 years of experience supporting children with diverse speech, language, and developmental needs. She has worked extensively with children diagnosed with autism, global developmental delay, speech sound disorders, and learning disabilities.
Carmel specialises in developing personalised, evidence-based therapy plans aimed at promoting functional communication and improving quality of life. She is trained in a range of specialised interventions, including PROMPT Therapy, the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), Sounds-Write, Spalding, Hanen’s It Takes Two to Talk, Visualising and Verbalising, and colourful semantics.
She holds a Bachelor of Speech-Language Pathology (Honours) from the University of the Witwatersrand (1998) and has practiced in both schools and private practices in Sydney. Carmel’s clinical interests include early language development, oral motor skills, phonological awareness, and speech sound disorders.
Carmel values working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to improve all areas of the child’s life and help them to reach their full potential.
